Steelcase - Studio B

Introduction

I'm sure we're mostly familiar with Steelcase (I'm sitting in a Steelcase Amia chair as I write this), but have you heard of Steelcase Studio B?

Studio B is Steelcase's bespoke custom shop, where clients work directly with Steelcase designers and engineers to develop unique solutions for their office furniture needs. The work occurs here at Steelcase's HQ in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Thanks to our friends at PVK, Launch Kit had the opportunity to create video content for Steelcase. Patrick Vander Kolk has worked with Steelcase for years on various creative marketing projects. This time, Steelcase was looking for photo and video content for a new web page for the Studio B business. Grand Rapids, Michigan, photographer Jill Devries was on board to lead the photography, and Noah Wyn from Launch Kit was in charge of the video production and editing.

Launch Kit's Scope of Work

• Capture B-Roll clips for web page usage.
• Edit an engaging banner video for the web page.

The team met up at Steelcase HQ to begin production. We were here to create a bundle of video media assets that could be used across various touch points, including the new web page.

We made our way through the Studio B workshop space and captured video content of the Steelcase team doing their thing. We stopped at various workstations, chatted with the Steelcase team about their work, and captured beautiful footage of their craftsmanship. The Steelcase Studio B workshop is a creative's playground as the space inspires fresh ideas, thinking differently, and collaboration.

Results

Based on the photo and video material Launch Kit and Jill produced, Steelcase built this beautiful web page to introduce prospective customers to Studio B.

PVK did a great job designing the web page, utilizing our video and Jill's photography to bring "life" to the page.

Photo and video media like this is incredibly valuable because each clip is an asset that can be pulled into various customer touchpoints. For example, if Steelcase wanted to do a social media post or digital ad, they now have a folder of top-notch material to choose from.

We call this evergreen content.
