From college side gigs to strategic partners, this is how Launch Kit reconnected with North Kent Connect to help elevate their nonprofit marketing through storytelling and dig

You know those stories where people talk about going full circle? Sometimes they sound cliché, but they tend to have a nice ring to them. This is one of those stories. Launch Kit’s first interaction with North Kent Connect happened back in 2021, technically before the name “Launch Kit” even existed.
In 2021, the North Kent Connect team was working through a formal EOS implementation with Laurel Romanella. At the same time, my college roommate and first Launch Kit team member, Frankie Lapenna, and I had just graduated from Grand Valley State University. We were exploring life after college, which for us meant making photo and video content for local businesses. Frankie led video. I handled photography and the business side of things.
We had partnered with Laurel on a few projects, capturing content during her quarterly EOS sessions. The goal was to create photo and video assets that documented teams in action behind the scenes. It was powerful material, helping clients visualize what alignment and collaboration actually looked like.
This was the first time our path crossed with North Kent Connect. It was their quarterly EOS session, and Frankie and I were there with cameras in hand.
We shot, edited, and delivered the final content to Laurel. I’ll link a few of those original pieces here for nostalgia’s sake.
Present Day
Fast forward to 2025. Launch Kit is now four years old, and we’ve reconnected with North Kent Connect in a new way. I recently joined a CEO Roundtable through the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce. On day one, I met Adrienne Goodstal, the current Executive Director at North Kent Connect.
We quickly connected over our mutual respect for EOS. I shared our early involvement with their team and our initial photo and video work. From there, we started talking about what digital marketing could look like for a nonprofit like North Kent Connect.
Digital Marketing Program
Launch Kit’s digital marketing program gives organizations like North Kent Connect the tools to turn ideas into action. Our monthly rhythm gives structure to the creative process. We help organizations move from scattered ideas to consistent, well-executed messaging.
Here’s how it works: every month, our team meets to review performance, discuss upcoming goals, and plan content. From there, we schedule a production day to capture new photo and video content.
With North Kent Connect, there’s never a shortage of stories to tell. Their multi-faceted approach to community service means we always have real, human-centered stories to capture and share.
We currently manage their content across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Google Business Profile. These platforms help North Kent Connect stay top-of-mind and connected with their audience.
We're also exploring Google Ad Grants to push their message even further. Google Grants give nonprofits access to $10,000 per month in free ad spend on Google Search and YouTube. If you’re an executive director at a nonprofit, this is a huge opportunity worth looking into.
Partnership
We’re honored to serve as North Kent Connect’s marketing partner. Collaborating on projects that make a real impact in our community is exactly why we do what we do. This partnership is a great example of how structured digital marketing and storytelling can help nonprofits reach more people and expand their mission.
We're using Facebook Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Google My Business to help NKC remain seen, heard, and top of mind in the community.
To support your organization, people first need to be aware of what you're working on.
Once aware, we can use high quality, authentic, valuable content to build trust with your audience. Brand authority is the positive gut feeling you have when you hear an organizations name.
