We helped a Grand Rapids nonprofit build a digital presence that raises funds, grows visibility, and keeps food on the shelves for families in need.

Launch Kit - Visionary
Today I want to share the story of how one local nonprofit is putting food on the table for hundreds of families right here in our hometown neighborhood of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.
As a marketing agency, one of the best parts of our job is getting to work with businesses and nonprofits in different industries. Some are fun because they challenge our skill set. Some are fun because of their deep roots in the city. And some just straight up pull on your heartstrings. Community Food Club checks all three.
What Community Food Club Does
Community Food Club is a nonprofit food pantry located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Unlike traditional food banks, they operate on an income-based membership model. Members pay a small monthly fee relative to their income in exchange for access to healthy groceries each month. Their storefront is located at 1100 South Division Avenue in Grand Rapids.
Their model restores dignity and choice to people experiencing food insecurity. Members use points instead of cash, with healthier food costing fewer points and sweet treats costing more. This creates a structure that encourages nutrition without taking away autonomy.
Launch Kit’s Marketing Approach
The word “marketing” almost feels wrong for the work we do with Community Food Club. Our mission statement actually says it better — share your story.
That’s what we do. We help Community Food Club share their story.
In the case of Community Food Club, demand is high. There’s even a waitlist of families hoping to join. But the bottleneck isn’t community need. It’s funding.
In order to keep their shelves stocked and their programs running, Community Food Club depends on donations from individuals, family foundations, corporate sponsors, and community partners. That’s where marketing becomes mission critical.
We know where attention is right now: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, email, and Google. So that’s where we show up with their story.
Strategic nonprofit marketing starts with consistent photo and video content.
These assets fuel everything — organic social media, YouTube videos, Google Grant ads and direct donor email campaigns.
The goal is to keep donors, prospective donors, volunteers, and partners connected to what’s happening at the Food Club. And more importantly, why it matters.
Celebrating a Decade of Dignity
Community Food Club recently marked a milestone — ten years of impact.
At their "Decade of Dignity" celebration held at 401 Hall Street, the community gathered to reflect on how far the organization has come and what challenges still lie ahead.
Being in that room gave you a tactile understanding of what this nonprofit means to Grand Rapids. You could feel the purpose. That’s exactly the kind of moment we strive to capture and amplify with our nonprofit videography and storytelling services.
Results That Matter
One of the reasons we love working with Community Food Club is how focused they are. Their mission is clear: raise funds, stock the shelves, and provide an affordable, dignified way for people to access healthy food.
And that starts with building visibility and trust.
Today, when someone types "Community Food Club" into Google, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, or TikTok, they’re met with a clear, authentic digital presence. Their story is consistent. Their brand reflects their values. And their impact is visible.
That’s the power of marketing done right.
Final Thoughts
At Launch Kit, our job is to make sure that nonprofits like Community Food Club are putting their best foot forward — online and in the community. Photo and video content is just the vehicle. The real story is in the mission, the people, and the everyday work they’re doing to make Grand Rapids a better place to live.
