Mackenzie Broekstra

After studying Marketing at Grand Valley State University, Mackenzie joined the Launch Kit team in 2022. She was the first full-time team member to take the reins as a Website Designer. Over the years, Mackenzie has become an integral part of building the web department into the success that it is today.

Mackenzie spends her time strategizing, designing, and developing clients' websites, primarily using Webflow. She works directly with her clients to understand their business and priorities. Once she understands where the client's business is heading, she is able to create website solutions that align with the overall business goals.

Q&A With Mackenzie

Tell us about your favorite foreign city.

After traveling to several countries, I've learned I'm happiest in the sun and near the water. My favorite sunny cities are Málaga, Spain, and Lisbon, Portugal.

You can go anywhere in the world for dinner; where do you go, and what do you order?

I'm a big pasta and pizza person, so I'd head to Italy. My after-dinner sweet treat: kinder bueno gelato!

What keeps you coming back to Grand Rapids?

If you had asked me where I'd end up in high school and early college, Grand Rapids would not have even been on my list of possibilities. I grew up just outside of the city and was ready for someplace new. Since graduating college and moving to the city center, I've discovered it's a great home base. My parents and a lot of my friends live close. I love a walkable city, and GR is a perfect size. If the MI weather gets me down (which it often does), you'll find me googling cheap flights for a quick trip somewhere new.

When you're not working, and you're not traveling, what are you go to fun activities here in town?

Outside of work, I like to stay busy. Whether that is game nights with friends, hitting the gym, going for a run, or taking a quick trip to the east side to see my sister, brother-in-law, and adorable neices, I always seem to be on the go.
