616 Golf started out as a Facebook group in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Luke Palmer and Mike Myeno created the page to bring together golfers in the greater Grand Rapids area. The idea was to create a space for people who love the game.
The group quickly grew to over 2,000 members, Luke and Mike were clearly on to something.
Luke and Mike began thinking of ways to bring the Facebook group members together for organized golf events around west michigan. Launch Kit came on board to create the website that allows them to post about upcoming events, submit scores and increase overall group awareness.
The idea was to create a lighthearted, modern design that paid respect to the game of golf while shining light on the new school casual approach to the game. A navy blue, carmel and beige palette was developed to embody this energy.
The structure of the website followed the various events offered by 616 Golf. That being their weekly league, quarterly tournaments, and merchandise shop. We worked away at building a site that was straightforward and allowed the user to easily register for events.
The result was a cool, professional and polished website that represents everything 616 stands for. The site has been used to manage registration for events with the help of our friends at EventBrite, as well as weekly league score submissions.
